What is 'Thriving Together' a Blueprint for Growth?

Economic growth is a national priority, and Blaenau Gwent and Torfaen stand ready to play their part in delivering a more stable, prosperous and greener future. Helping people access fair employment and creating healthy and sustainable places are key objectives for both councils

As a newly federated area Blaenau Gwent and Torfaen are ready to take the next step in their growth journey together.

Both areas agree that economic growth must be inclusive, equitable and shaped by both communities as part of a wider “Deal” between both of the councils and communities.

Thriving Together is the name of the draft Blueprint for Inclusive and Sustainable Growth. It sets out the vision, themes and principles that should guide both councils' work.

Why this matters...

The Blueprint for Growth will set our future work that Blaenau Gwent and Torfaen councils will focus on to support economic growth. This, in turn, is intended to benefit communities, help address inequality and provide more opportunities for residents in the future.

How you can help

Right now the plan is in draft form, it's a work in progress.
So, we'd like you to do the following please:

1. Read the draft Blueprint for Growth document

THEN

2. Complete the short feedback form below to share your experiences around jobs, training, opportunities and where you live.

OR...

3. Add your comments to the Ideas Board below under the Add Your Comment tab.

That's it. We'll then take your feedback and use it to shape the draft document further so it has the best chance to really make a difference as we go forward.

Please share your views via the form below, which is open from Wednesday 25th March until Wednesday 6th May, 2026.

Want to discuss it in person?
