THIS CONSULTATION IS NOW CLOSED
New Park Management Plans are being created to make sure our larger council owned parks continue to be enhanced for recreation and active living, while promoting biodiversity.
The plans will address access, facilities, buildings, structures, and play equipment.
The plans will also prioritise and schedule future maintenance activities and provide evidence to support external funding bids for improvement and management works.
Each park will have its own management plan focusing on the maintenance of existing facilities and identifying opportunities for further facilities, whilst addressing any issues raised through public consultation.
You have until midnight on Monday 30th September to complete the survey and let us know how you use parks, what is important to you and what you think could be improved.
The council owned parks that we manage include:
Blaenavon Park
Cwmbran Recreation Areas (Northfields, Southfields, and the Boating Lake)
Cwmbran Park
Fishpond Park (Panteg, Griffithstown)
Glansychan Park
Pontnewydd Park
Pontypool Park.
The management plans are being fully funded from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Preparation of the management plans has been possible through £49,120 of grant funding from the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund.
Get involved in the Park Management Plans by clicking on the survey below.
If you have any feedback about a specific park please make sure you name the park in the comments section of the survey.
What happens next?
After the survey closes the information will be examined and will feed into the draft management strategy. We will post a follow-up here on Get Involved during October so do check back.
