Torfaen County Borough Council is thrilled to have joined the Nature Towns and Cities programme, being awarded £800,000 over three years for the Torfaen Healthy Planet, Healthy People project. Through the project we will gain a better understanding of the nature that we have in Torfaen, how communities access it and how we can improve our greenspaces so that nature and people thrive together.

Nature Schools – working with schools to design more nature rich school grounds and green spaces near them to offer more opportunities for children and young people to connect to nature locally
Co-design workshops – bringing together local communities, individuals and groups with local experts to design green spaces that are richer in nature and easier for people to access
