Aim: This questionnaire aims to assess the current research capacity and capability of staff within Torfaen Council.
The information gathered will help us design targeted training to enhance research skills and will also serve as an evaluation tool to measure progress over time.
Definition of research: Research is a way of gathering and analysing information to make better decisions and improve services. In the council, this could mean using data and feedback to understand needs, evaluate what is working, and identify areas for improvement. It can involve gathering thoughts from people, analysing statistics, or piloting new interventions to support informed decision-making. Research helps ensure that policies and services are based on evidence rather than assumptions, leading to more effective solutions, better resource allocation, and improved outcomes for the community.
