The Gwent Local Authorities is looking to benchmark the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards arrangements across Wales, in light of the announcement to delay the Liberty Protection Safeguards.
Gwent is made up of 5 Local Authorities: Caerphilly County Borough Council, Torfaen County Borough Council, Newport City Council, Blaenau Gwent, and Monmouthshire County Council, with a partnership arrangement for DoLs with Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.
The region is keen to build an understanding of the varying practice across Wales as part of a review of practice in Gwent. We are also looking to get an understanding of what MCA/DoLs networks are currently available or what interest there is to adopt a professionals MCA/DoLs network in Wales.
Questions have been divided into various sections, for ease of completion, which you can return to complete when convenient. It would be beneficial for all areas to be completed to have a proportionate understanding of arrangements.
The information collated will be shared with the Gwent Local Authority leads to inform their review in Gwent, and can anonymously be shared with other stakeholders and those interested in this area, upon request. Please see privacy notice at the bottom of the page for further information.
