Every year, usually at the start of the municipal year (May/June), each overview and scrutiny committee must set and publish its work programme, setting out a list of selected items which they wish to scrutinise during the year ahead.
This session is known as “Visioning”.
A wide range of feeder information, such a performance data, risk analysis, external inspection recommendations and the Executive Forward Plan is considered by members when prioritising their work programme for the year ahead.
One of the most important sets of information considered, is suggestions from the public. Members of the public are invited to suggests items for scrutiny at any time through the Suggest an Item for Scrutiny form on our webpage: https://www.torfaen.gov.uk/en/Forms/Others/Suggest-an-item-for-Scrutiny.aspx
Members will be undertaking the next round of work programming sessions over the first two weeks of July 2025 (2nd and 3rd of July, and 9th and 10th of July).
Our committee members would welcome your suggestions or comments on what you would like to see them scrutinise in the year ahead.
