About the strategy
We want to make it easier for you, Torfaen's residents, to access leisure opportunities as easily as possible. Plus we believe in providing opportunities to excel for those with exceptional sporting talent.
And importantly, we want to champion the positive effect that sport and leisure has on well-being.
As part of the council's Community Well-being Strategy, we want to build Torfaen into a leisure destination. This means offering high-quality, coordinated facilities and our natural landscape that brings visitors into the borough for leisure, tournaments and competitions.
Part of this would mean proactively supporting our sports clubs so that they drive positive engagement in sport whilst becoming community hubs. We also want to have the right facilities in the right places.
