THIS CONSULTATION HAS NOW CLOSED

The Democracy and Boundary Commission Cymru is reviewing the Senedd constituency boundaries.

It comes after the Welsh Government introduced the Senedd Cymru Bill in 2023, which set out plans for 16 Senedd constituencies formed by combining two UK parliamentary constituencies.

Each constituency will be represented by six Members of Senedd, increasing the total number of MS from 60 to 96.

There are currently 40 Senedd constituencies and five regional seats.

A consultation on the proposed changes is being carried out until Monday 30 September.

These include a new Monmouthshire and Torfaen Senedd constituency.

For more information and to comment on the proposals, visit the Democracy and Boundary Commission Cymru website.

The first stage of the consultation closes on 30 September 2024.
