Scrutiny Committees

Resources & Corporate Business Committee is an overarching committee with the aim of holding to account the authority’s decision makers, in delivering an efficient, high performing, innovative, value for money council.

The Healthier Communities Overview & Scrutiny Committee acts as a safeguard and sounding board for our care services which aim to see healthier communities, where vulnerable people are assisted to lead socially inclusive, independent lives, where we take care of each other and support strong communities within the borough to assist those most in need from our youngest to oldest residents.

The Prosperous Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee reviews a range of council service areas and partner agencies to ensure we develop creative and innovative ways to achieve our ambitions for prosperity, economic growth and community cohesion within Torfaen

The Education Overview and Scrutiny Committee strives to challenge and hold to account education services in Torfaen, to ensure all our young people are being given the best possible chance in life by achieving a good standard of education.

The Cleaner Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee is responsible for ensuring that as a council we work efficiently to achieve cleaner and greener communities and a sustainable local environment that residents are proud of!
