The Welsh Government has pledged Wales will be net carbon zero by 2050.
In Torfaen, our Climate Ambassadors are working to help individuals and communities to cut carbon emissions and support biodiversity.

Supporting active travel
Supporting active travel by providing safe and accessible bike parking in keys areas within Torfaen, such as Pontypool town centre. The promotion and development of safe cycle routes would be great too!

Increase the number of drop curbs and improve pavements so myself and other disabled can use scooters and wheelchairs safely instead of cars

To reduce carbon by planting trees
A short fall of trees around all of Torfaen housing estates. Planting more trees will encourage more walking and less use of cars.

Reducing use of company work vehicles.
To help reduce carbon within Torfaen, Is to reduce the use of company own vehicles driving off company grounds unless to carry out a job.
