Love Torfaen and help put public art on the map
People across Torfaen are being asked to help celebrate the amazing artwork in their communities.
As part of the Love Torfaen project, Torfaen Council is creating a mural trail to bring together murals and public art from across the borough.
These large-scale artworks, on walls and even on the sides of buildings, can tell stories about our towns, important local people and special moments from the past. They also show the creativity and pride of the people who live here today.
Some murals have already been getting lots of admiration from local communities, including the new dragon mural at the entrance to Riverside Car Park in Pontypool. Created by artist Andy O'Rourke, the colourful mural celebrates the town's industrial history and culture.
At Pontypool Indoor Market, artist Danielle Farringdon is creating two more murals. They are part of The Light We Carry project. The murals include light in their designs to represent hope, strength and community spirit.
In Blaenavon, local businesses and community members are also helping to create two murals on buildings in the town centre. These murals will share the same theme.
