We'd like you to nominate local benches on walking and cycling routes to become Happy to Chat benches. They'd have a new plaque added, to encourage people to stop and chat.
Recently, primary and secondary school pupils were asked to design Happy to Chat plaques. A total of 90 designs were submitted, which were shortlisted. These were voted on by the public and the two that received the most votes (below) have been printed.
The plaques are being added to benches along active travel routes and we would now like you to suggest benches in your local area, that you would like to see made into a Happy to Chat bench featuring the plaques. Plaques will also be added to benches in school grounds.
The Happy to Chat bench plaques have been funded by the council's Active Travel team.
