FAQs about the library's temporary closure

Can I borrow books while the library is closed?
There will be an extended loan period during the closure period and customers are able to take 20 extra books prior to the closure date. Books borrowed at Cwmbran Library from the 1st February onwards will have an extended loan period to cover the closure.
Our request and collect offer will continue to be available, although on a limited basis due to stock availability.
Customers can renew books online via our online catalogue or by calling any of the libraries.
Pontypool Library and Blaenavon Library will be open as usual. For the duration of the closure period only, Pontypool Library will also be open on Mondays, 9am-5pm.
Our Library@Home service will continue as usual.
Can I still access PC and printing services?
Public PC access will be available at Pontypool and Blaenavon Libraries, with extended opening hours at Pontypool Library to include Monday from 9am-5pm on a temporary basis during the closure period for Cwmbran. Customers can book PC sessions online or by phone. Remote/Wi-Fi printing will still be available, with printouts collectable from Pontypool or Blaenavon Libraries.
For access to our IT drop-in sessions during the closure, please book a slot at Pontypool Library (Fridays, 2-4pm) or Blaenavon Library (Wednesdays, 2-4pm).
Can I still access regular library activities?
Some regular activities will be held in Gwent House in Cwmbran town centre. Customers can enquire for details and check the Torfaen Libraries Facebook page for additional online activities.
Where can I get recycling boxes and bags from during the closure period?
During the closure period, recycling boxes, bags, caddies and/or caddy liners can be collected from the Congress Theatre.
