Consultation has concluded

Amended plans have been proposed as part of the British Ironworks Drainage Scheme.

They include:

  • A new above ground watercourse that will channel Blaengafog Brook and Castle Wood stream into a new pond
  • A pond that can withstand a 1 in 100 year flood event, with an additional 20% storage capacity to account for climate change
  • A new walkway between the Big Arch and Farm Road
  • Enhanced local vegetation and biodiversity

The plans are subject to councillors approving a request for an additional £1.25m, following a report to council on Tuesday 23 July, and planning permission.
