Age-Friendly Torfaen - 50+ survey
*This survey closes at 5pm on Tuesday 28th May**
Age-Friendly Plan for Torfaen - questionnaire for residents aged 50+
The World Health Organisation Age-friendly Cities framework proposes eight interconnected areas (listed below) that can help to identify and address barriers to the well-being and participation of older people. These are:
- Outdoor Spaces and Buildings
- Transportation
- Housing
- Social Participation
- Respect and Social Inclusion
- Civic Participation and Employment
- Communication and Information
- Community and Health Care
For the purpose of this questionnaire, we will work through each of these eight areas and make a statement or two about each one. Please tell us whether you agree with the statements by ticking the relevant box.
You can also provide an explanation for your answer, if you wish. This is optional, but it would help to give us insight into your response and potentially give us ideas to improve things.
In addition to the statements, some sections will have a few questions to help us understand your views and experiences and how these relate to your circumstances.
What happens after this survey closes?
The responses to this questionnaire will be collated and analysed by staff within the Public Services Support Unit at Torfaen County Borough Council.
A summary report will be produced, outlining what people have told us and making some recommendations for areas that the Age-Friendly Plan for Torfaen should focus on.
A similar questionnaire to this one will be provided to staff from across the Council, other public services and third sector charities and groups, who work with older people. This will focus on the 8 domains, utilising the same 10 statements, seeking to draw out their perspectives and the challenges that older people they have worked with have faced.
Utilising the responses to both questionnaires, as well as findings from previous surveys and trusted data sources, we will produce a draft Age-Friendly Plan for Torfaen.
If you have stated that you would like to be kept informed about this work, we will ensure you receive a copy of the Draft Age-Friendly Plan and have an opportunity to make further comments.
We anticipate a public consultation on the Draft Age-Friendly Plan in Summer 2022 to ensure widespread support, with a view to it being finalised and then adopted in Autumn/Winter 2022.
Take care and thanks again for your time and contribution.
