Torfaen County Borough Council Outdoor Events Policy

Closed 9 Jan 2022

Opened 10 Dec 2021

Torfaen County Borough Council recognises the value and benefit that a varied and well managed outdoor events programme can offer the residents of Torfaen.  The Authority is committed to supporting events that contribute to the well-being of our communities and the natural environment in accordance with the Council’s aims and objectives.

We already charge to hire out parks and open spaces for events and propose this policy framework for managing the process. It clearly sets out how each event would be charged, based on its size and the status of the organiser, for example whether it is a charity or commercial business.

The aim of the policy is to provide a consistent and fair approach to the hiring of our parks and open spaces, providing clear guidance on the scale and type of events we can accommodate, as well as clarifying where any exemptions from charging may apply.
